District Team Leader Opportunities
These Team Leader opportunities are ideal for anyone looking for a High-Performance Leadership, Distinguished Toastmaster project and /or experience with team building and team motivation.
Spring Conference Chair
Term of Office: One year
Create the District 11 Spring Conference. Acquire additional subordinate chairpersons.
Major Team Targets to Accomplish
- By December 1, 2024, contract for meeting space for the Spring Conference to be held at the end of April or beginning of May.
- By 1/1/2025, create the following Spring Conference teams:
- Educational Program
- Entertainment
- Facilities and logistics
- Registration and Credentials
- Contest
- Recognition
- By 2/1/2025, create the full conference agenda and begin working with the Public Relations Manager to publicize the conference.
Required Experience
- Created at least one event with more than 50 registrants at a hotel or convention center.
- Attended at lease three in-person District Conferences or Fall Education days.
- Successfully managed a project team of at least 10 people.
- Managed event components that covered at least two of the team areas noted in Major Team Targets to Accomplish.
Follow-on Opportunities
- Add to experience of planning events.
- Get to know and lead multiple Toastmaster Teams.
- A natural stepping stone to Club Growth Director, Program Quality Director or District Director.
- Display yourself and your leadership skills to the entire District.

Club Officer Training Manager
Term of Office: One year
Create a team to administer and perform club officer training for a year; ensuring quality and consistency in training facilitation and delivery.
Major Team Targets to Accomplish
- Using Toastmasters International training guidance, train at least 75% of club officers with at least 1 hour of training on the following schedule:
- Between 11/1/2024 and 2/28/2025, does not include officer training basics.
- Between 6/1/2024 and 8/31/2024, must include officer training basics.
- Acquire additional team members to administer training sessions.
- Acquire qualified facilitators for each training session, taking steps to maintain high quality presentations.
- During the training seasons, provide reports and metrics on the completed training sessions.
Required Experience
- Facilitated officer training for at least 3 different offices.
- Participated as a District Council Member at least three times.
- Organized and ran an Officer Training session or a Speech Contest at the Area level or above.
Follow-on Opportunities
- Add to experience of planning events.
- Get to know many additional Toastmasters.
- A natural stepping stone to Program Quality Director.

District Chief Judge
Term of Office: One year
Create a list of trained judges to participate as judges at District level contests. Represent the District as Chief Judge.
Major Team Targets to Accomplish
- Using Toastmasters International training guidance, train judges for the two District Contest types.
- Between 10/1/2024 and 12/31/2025:
- Train at least five voting/tiebreaker judges in each Division.
- Train at least 1 Chief Judge in each Division.
- Acquire additional team members, including an Assistant District 11 Chief Judge, to facilitate judges training.
- Perform as Chief Judge in the District 11 International Speech Contest, including voting/tiebreaker judge acquisition.
- Train the Assistant District 11 Chief Judge to:
- Be your replacement for the next year.
- Be the Chief Judge at the District 11 non-International Speech Contest, including voting/tiebreaker judge acquisition.
- Acquire additional team members to facilitate training to be contest judges.
- Retain list of trained voting/tiebreaker judges and Chief Judges.
Required Experience
- Been a Chief Judge at the Division Level or above.
- Been a judge in at least 5 contest above the club level.
- Strong knowledge of the Contest rule-book as it applies to all potential contest types.
Follow-on Opportunities
- Additional experience in organizing training sessions.
- Additional experience in acquiring quality judges for contests.
- Get to know many Toastmasters.
- A natural stepping stone to Program Quality Director.

Historian
Term of Office: One year
Become the spokesperson for the District 11 history. Use document library skills to produce a sustainable historical library.
Major Items to Accomplish
- Obtain and organize existing history documents into a sustainable document store.
- Present a history topic as part of the educational program at the Spring Conference.
- Create a mechanism for addition of future events.
- Proposal of longevity award mechanism.
Required Experience
- Knowledge of document and image management archiving.
- Creation of procedures pertinent to the maintenance of the archives.
Follow-on Opportunities
- Upward path into District Web-mastering.
- Get to know long term Toastmasters.
